Reviews and Ratings
The hotel had a mix of positives like lovely rooms and helpful service, but some drawbacks such as small room size and limited dining options. The location was wonderful for the event, while the dining experience was lovely but pricey.
The hotel offered a wide range of meals prepared by a quality chef, but unfortunately, the rooms had issues with massive spiders and a cumbersome sofa bed. Additionally, the lack of basic amenities like shampoo and the high pricing were disappointing.
The hotel rooms could have done with some TLC but my room was spotless and the bathroom was of a much higher standard than I expected with a massive walk-in shower. However, it was far too expensive for what it offered, lacking basics like shampoo, conditioner, soap, or a hairdryer. Despite the friendly service, there were lots of massive spiders that seemed to be overlooked. The bath was covered in black sealant, which was not appealing.
I had a lovely stay at The Blazing Donkey. The rooms were spotless, and the bathroom was of a much higher standard than I expected, with a massive walk-in shower. Despite some issues with overcharging that were not resolved to my satisfaction, the converted stables room we stayed in was very good, clean, and comfortable.
The hotel offers adequate rooms, but they are very dated. The friendly service makes up for some shortcomings. The location is comfortable, though in need of renovation. The dining experience could use improvement. The facilities are decent, but not exceptional.
